We are in the midst of the largest COVID surge our state and local area have seen. The highly-contagious Delta variant is causing this sharp rise in COVID infections and is detrimental to our community, our citizens, and our economy. Our health care system is overloaded, and the strain caused by this virus inevitably spills over into routine and non-COVID emergency care.
The fastest and most effective way to stop this pattern from continuing is for citizens to get vaccinated. The vaccine is scientifically proven to prevent serious illness, reduce the spread of the virus and reduce the chance of new variants to occur. Widespread vaccinations not only protect those who receive the shot, but those in our community who can’t get vaccinated, including our children.
We, the same healthcare providers who take care of you and your family's day-to-day health, urge you to be vaccinated against COVID-19. Help us work together to return to normal and prevent more loss in our community.
